The Royal Academy of Dance is the world’s largest examining and teaching organisation in classical ballet and 185,000 children and students are examined or assessed in classical ballet annually. These students are often too young or ineligible to join the Academy as a member themselves, and therefore joining as a Friend will help you to understand their passion, and for them to develop an overall awareness of classical ballet.

By becoming a member of the Royal Academy of Dance you will join a family of 17,600 members in 84 countries and help to support the Academy’s aims and objectives. Your Subscription will provide you with:

• The Dance Gazette - the journal of the Royal Academy of Dance is published three times a year. It addresses international concerns in the world of classical ballet and keeps you informed of Academy developments
• A local New Zealand Diary of news and events three times a year
• All Academy annual publications including Technical Supplement, Courses Brochures, Annual General Report, Mail Order Catalogue
• Discounts on goods purchased from our mail order outlet
• Advance notice of worldwide courses and events for your children held throughout the world, including fun opportunities for your children to meet new friends through courses, summer schools and other events
• Membership of a professional organisation representing your views and lobbying on your behalf

Friend of the Academy Subscription Application

The Academy’s subscription year runs from September. Subscribers may join at any time of the year, with annual renewals in September thereafter. How much is the Friends subscription and where do I pay? The subscription for NZ residents is $82-00 Inclusive of GST.
